If you’re looking for support for the free Branford Magazine WordPress theme, here are some tips.

First, be sure you’re using a stable, complete version of Branford Magazine.  That’s all I offer at the Free Downloads tab on my homepage.

If you’re still having difficulties…

1. Search here, a the Branford Magazine website.  Though this website was designed to test the Branford Magazine theme as I wrote Sites that Soar!, my original tutorial, you’ll still find many helpful articles here.

2. Search at Sites that Soar’s support website: SitesThatSoar.com/wordpress/ It’s also free.  It covers a variety of questions about — and versions of — Branford Magazine.  It discusses installation and customizing, homepage graphics, custom fields and more.

3. Read The Branford Magazine User’s Manual.

In over 150 pages, The Branford Magazine User’s Manual shows you  — step by step, with lots of screenshots — how to install, customize and tweak your free Branford Magazine theme.

You can download it instantly, even if it’s 3 in the morning.

Book customers can always email me for advice.  If I can help, I will!  I generally answer within 24 hours, and usually a lot sooner.

4. Is your question about WordPress?  They have a great support forum at WordPress.org.  It’s free, and people are very helpful there.

5. Try good ol’ trial-and-error.  That’s how I learned.  Just be sure you have a backup copy of your website before you try anything drastic. If you get into serious trouble, contact me.  If I can help, I will.

6. If all else fails, visit the Michael Oeser’s Branford Magazine support forum at http://www.DER-PRiNZ.com.

However, at that forum he says:

“I do NOT offer any support or help for individual customization for free (but you can hire me if you like to). That means if you want to change the basic functions and layout of the theme significantly, I will not give you a ready-to-work solution. I probably will not answer at all.”

So, his forum visitors may have answers, but you’ll get the best results with my other, recommended steps.

Mostly, be sure you’re using a complete version of Branford Magazine theme.
